Electrus Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. In general, you can visit us on the World Wide Web without disclosing to us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. If you contact us to inquire about any of our services, either by using our e-mail service or by filling out an on-line application for any of our services, we will collect information about you which is necessary to process your service request. We want you to know how we will handle that information.

If you visit our Web site, Electrus Federal Credit Union will collect and store information on the domain you use to access our Web site, the Internet address from which you linked directly to our site, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the various pages on our site to better serve our membership.

If you e-mail us via our e-mail address, we will use the information you provide willingly in your e-mail to process your service request.

If you fill out an on-line application for any of our services, we will use the information you provide willingly on any or all of our on-line applications to process your service request.

It is our policy to treat any information collected about you through your use of this site as strictly confidential. Our staff will have access to the information provided by you, but we will not share any information provided by any of our members with any third party unless that party is a vendor that provides information necessary to process your service request. An example is the credit reporting bureau with which we contract to review your credit file before granting a loan.

 The Credit Union uses cookies to personalize your online experience with us.  For security reasons, we do not embed your social security number, password, or other personal information in our cookies.

 

You can set your browser to reject cookies.  However, if you choose to reject cookies, you cannot use CU Online Banking with the Credit Union.  You can also set your browser to warn you when placement of a cookie is requested and decide whether or not to accept it.  If you are concerned about accepting cookies, you can choose to reject cookies when you are just browsing and accept cookies when you want to conduct online transactions.  We suggest you review the privacy policies of the Web sites you visit before you decide whether to accept cookies from them.

 

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects the information you provide to us online.  SSL is the leading security protocol for data transfer on the Internet.  This technology scrambles your account information as it moves between your PC’s browser and the Credit Union’s computer systems.  When you do transactions with us online SSL helps protect the safety and confidentiality of your information.

 

We recommend that you complete your online transactions and log off before surfing to other sites or turning off your PC.  We also suggest that you do not surf to other sites during your online banking session.
