Important Information about Procedures for Opening a New Account To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also verify your identity through a credit report or other electronic verification system.
Who is eligible? You are eligible to become a member of EFCU if you are a member, retiree, or office personnel of the following IBEW Local Unions: 343, 292, 160. Membership also includes contractors signatory to the local 343, 292, and 160 NECA labor agreements, all their employees, and three generations of your family members who work in diverse professions. You may also be eligible if your company has EFCU membership as part of its employee benefit package. Contact us to see if you and your family are eligible!
Membership as an employee benefit Having credit union membership as a part of your benefit package brings a choice that would not otherwise be available to you or your employees. You are rewarding them, and their families, with the valuable lasting benefit of Electrus membership. While Electrus offers the same sophisticated financial products and services as many large banks, our service and commitment are a world apart. We believe in helping people reach their goals, our actions prove it. To discuss adding Electrus to your employee benefit package call 763-569-4000.
Our Structure EFCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned by the people who save and borrow here. Every member is an owner with an equal vote in the election of the credit union's volunteer board of directors. There are no stockholders at EFCU, and earnings are returned to members in the form of lower rates on loans, higher rates on savings, fewer and lower service fees, or invested back into the credit union to provide more services members need and want.
Volunteer to Serve The Board of Directors consists of seven persons who serve without compensation. The Board of Directors possesses the authority and responsibility for the general direction of the business affairs, funds, and records of the credit union. The Supervisory Committee is responsible for maintaining the credit union's safety and soundness. All volunteers are given the opportunity to participate in many educational opportunities throughout the year.
